About Golden Retriever

We made great progress enabling retrievals in 2022. We have added new retrieval protocols and made improvements in our retrieval software performance. Now we want to reward Storage providers that have dedicated themselves to serving fast and reliable retrievals.

🥁 Introducing Golden Retriever!

Golden Retriever is a new distinction to describe the Storage Providers that meet a minimum set of requirements of serving fast and reliable retrievals
Golden Retriever Chase is a community competition we are running in January - February 2023, dedicated to rewarding top Golden Retrievers with fame, recognition and some FIL to sweeten the taste of victory

Here is how it will work

Over the course of 8 weeks starting January 9, we will track performance of all SPs that receive retrieval requests from the IPFS gateway
We will award prizes to three Golden Retrievers that served most retrievals
An additional set of 5 prizes will be awarded via a lottery among all Golden Retrievers
We will also promote winners on Filecoin Twitter, SP newsletter and in Slack!

Rules

You can become a Golden Retriever by satisfying the following criteria:
- Weekly average retrieval success rate (from query to successful retrieval): > 75%
- Retrieval volume per week: >5 retrievals successfully served
- TTFB: < 5s
- Average Transfer Speed: >0.75MB/s
Three Golden Retrievers that served most retrievals will receive prizes
Additional 5 prizes will be awarded via a lottery
No action is needed to participate! You just need to qualify as Golden Retriever for 6 out of 8 weeks to be eligible for awards
To help us promote your SP to potential clients and partners, please help us connect your Miner ID to your organization name by filling out a form that you can find in our the Slack channel

Prizes

1st prize: The taste of victory and 300 FIL
2nd prize: Glory and 200 FIL
3rd prize: Recognition for a great showing and 100 FIL
5 lottery prizes: 50 FIL each
